Using Videos to Generate Leads on LinkedIn

I'm always surprised to view the profiles of new connections on LinkedIn and see no videos or links on their summary section, experience section, or their college section. As more and more users view LinkedIn profiles via a mobile platform, the use of video and links will become more powerful for those hoping to use their LinkedIn Profiles to generate leads. So, why don't more users add videos to their profile? The answer lies in that most users don't know where to pull the content if they don't normally create videos or don't know where to get links that will create images for click throughs that move the user to the site. So, here are three examples of how to get video or link content into your profile.

So, why don't more users add videos to their profile? The answer lies in that most users don't know where to pull the content if they don't normally create videos or don't know where to get links that will create images for click throughs that move the user to the site. So, here are three examples of how to get video or link content into your profile.

Adding Videos Or Links:

What you will do is to view your profile and then click the pencil icon to edit your profile which can be found on the right-hand side near your picture. You'll then scroll down your profile and find an area to add links or videos.

Let's talk about both of the options on how you can bring in your content and then we will discuss where to get the content.

It's really pretty simple to add Links to a URL, file, or video by simply clicking the link button. If you click the upload button your computer will prompt you to determine what file you will pull the upload from at that time. Either of these two methods will get you a link.

Remember, that you can you decide what sort of language goes underneath the image that users will see on the LinkedIn platform. The more catchy the title, the better chance you have for someone to want to click on that link or video. This is where the magic starts for the conversion process.

Getting content even if you don't produce videos may be easier than you think, so here are my three tips.

  • Every page on your website will normally generate with a corresponding image - So, you want people to click on a link and then be redirected to your website so it can do its magic and create you some new leads? What you should be doing is looking for the pages of your website that bring in the best images so LinkedIn users will want to click the picture along with the catchy title you give the link.
  • You Tube is Our Tube - One secret a lot of people don't know is that you can use a You Tube video to generate leads by embedding cards within the video. You Tube will currently allow you to use five cards per video. So, let's say you own a heating and air conditioning company but you don't currently have any videos to show? Just lift a couple of videos from You Tube that you really like, make a copy of them, and then embed cards in the You Tube.
  • Use The Videos From Your Company - if you work for a medium or large size company, odds are they have "approved" videos already. If they do, then this could be a way you can help your company.

What is your to do from here? Go into your summary section, your experience section, and pick one other section where you add three images, videos, or links. You'll immediately notice more people who comment to you about your profile, but more importantly , f you study your google analytics you'll notice more clicks from LinkedIn to your website.
